Message Say, you bought a DVD disk from Japan and you tried to play back home in US, but the players here in North America are not capable to decode the format.
There are N. America format, Europe format, Asia format(also sub divided to Japan, China and I think there is also another one...... can't remember). So if you bought a Pioneer DVD player here in US, you could also play the DVD disks from Asia, not sure about the Europe version tho.
